Made primarily of ergal, except for the stem and spring, these oleopneumatic suspensions with variable setting offer hydraulic adjustment in both extension and compression, compensated by a pressurized nitrogen chamber.
The design of these suspensions was the result of extensive research by technicians from both companies, who combined their expertise to create an innovative product. The versatility of these suspensions is astonishing thanks to the 3 unique adjustment systems, which enhance their use both on the road and on the track: extension hydraulic system adjustment to absorb rough terrain, double compression hydraulic system adjustment (separate for low and high speed), spring preload to adapt the vehicle to the riding position, and a system to vary the setup for cornering behavior.
These special shock absorbers represent the highest technological expression currently available on the market. They are oleopneumatic shock absorbers with a separate compensation tank, specifically designed for competition scooters. The shock absorber rod has a diameter of 14 mm and is made of 38 NiCrMo4UNI 7845 steel, hardened with a hard chrome deposit. The piston has a diameter of 36 mm and features two independent lamellar packs, one for compression and one for extension. The harmonic steel lamellar system allows for precise calibration. The piston guide shoe is made of LUBRIFLON-PTFEB70, a modified compound loaded with bronze. It slides on a GUIDA DU bushing, a compound obtained by sintering a spheroidal bronze state onto a properly pressed mild steel strip, with subsequent impregnation and coating with a mixture of PTFE+FB. The scraper ring is made of SEALTHANE polyester resin grade 9345.
These shock absorbers offer micrometric preload adjustment through rings and preselectable hydraulic extension braking adjustment in approximately 24 positions. Additionally, they offer double preselectable hydraulic compression braking adjustment in approximately 10 positions each, separate for low and high speed. The oil used is a special low viscosity oil that is practically unaffected by temperature variations. The external compensation tank allows for an increase in the quantity of internal fluids. 180 mm wheelbase and 45 mm stroke for the front shock absorber. 290 mm wheelbase (adjustable by up to 25 mm) and 62 mm stroke for the rear shock absorber.
