The Malossi needle roller cage is an independent bearing made of high-strength steel. This component is designed to allow reciprocal movement between two objects, maintaining the rotation seat and supporting the rotating elements with minimal dimensions, negligible weight, and reduced friction.

The needle roller cage is composed of a body with internal housings for the rollers, which are retained but free to rotate axially. The rollers are essential in internal combustion engines, which have numerous rotating moving parts.

The cage must be lightweight but also robust and precise, while the rollers must be perfectly cylindrical and selected with extremely tight tolerances. The slots in which the rollers are housed must be parallel to avoid unwanted movements and collateral axial thrusts that could cause overheating and reduce the component's lifespan.

Malossi has selected the best needle roller cages available on the market, built with heat-treated steel to ensure exceptional mechanical strength and hardness. Some applications feature a surface protection in aluminum for increased wear resistance and reduced rotational friction.

For applications that require even greater strength, a surface protection in copper has been used, which reduces friction, protects against wear, and improves heat dissipation, allowing the cage to function properly even under high temperature conditions.
