The Malossi RHQ crankshaft is equipped with a 12 mm diameter piston pin and a stroke of 37.4 mm. This component is the heart of the internal combustion engine and all engine performance depends on it.
To ensure high performance and reliability, it is essential that the crankshaft is of excellent quality. Malossi exclusively produces crankshafts of the highest absolute class.
The crankshaft halves are made of 18 Ni Cr Mo5 material and forged in one piece together with the rotating masses. All machining is carried out on highly precise machine tools.
Each component of the crankshaft undergoes five heat treatments. Additionally, the surface is finished to improve reliability.
The crankshaft has undergone dynamic balancing up to 16,000 rpm. The connecting rod is forged in 18 Ni Cr Mo5 copper-plated and coupled to the crankshaft with a precision roller bearing suitable for high speeds.
